Volunteering

Somerset Parent Partnership values the contributions of volunteers to support our service.

If you have some spare time, an interest in education and an eagerness to make a difference, you could be just what we are looking for.

What's involved?

As a volunteer for Somerset Parent Partnership, you could be involved in a number of different areas, for example:

Role 1.
One-to-one support to parents and carers of children with special educational needs
We welcome people who can work directly to support parents and carers. We are particularly looking for anyone who could help us by supporting families in the South Somerset area.

Role 2.
Distributing our information leaflets
To help us raise awareness of our service, we are looking for people who can distribute leaflets in community venues within their local area.

Role 3.
Attending family information events
We often attend events for families throughout Somerset to raise the profile of our service. We welcome volunteers who could support us at these events.

In return for your time and commitment, Somerset Parent Partnership can offer you:

  • The opportunity to join a small, friendly, supportive and committed team
  • Free induction training and training session throughout the year
  • Expenses covered
  • Regular support sessions
  • Opportunities to meet with other volunteers
